Diving in Grenada

Grenada provides some of the best wreck diving the Caribbean has to offer. Some of the signature dives include the Bianca C – a cruise ship that sank in 1961 and the “Shakem” – a freighter that sank just off the St. George’s harbour entrance. But not only the wreck enthusiast gets their way in Grenada – all the wrecks are thanks to the nutrition rich water artificial reefs – but also Reef and Marine life are abundant around the Isle of Spice. Rare Sightings of Black Brotula for example and critters are as common as pelagic marine life. Sea turtles such as the Hawskbill Turtle and the Leatherback Turtle have their nesting grounds around the islands and a common sight in spring and summer. A large population of Nurse sharks lives around the Atlantic dive sites, some of which give protection to pregnant nurse mamas twice a year. Click here for a detailed list of Grenada’s dive sites.

Snorkeling Grenada

Snorkelers too find a lot to discover – the most popular being the Underwater Sculpture Park. In 2006 the British artist Jason de Caire - Taylor created sculptures of local people and tales to place them underwater as an artificial reef. Meantime other local artists have contributed to the park, making it an ever changing attraction.  Reef sites like Flamingo Bay and Blue Lagoon offer the snorkeler a glimpse into the beauty of our world underwater. All snorkel trips are guided; gear, snorkel vests and refreshments are provided. More details on snorkel sites and price; just click here: www.snorkelgrenada.com
