Karaya Arawak Museum

June 08, 2012

Next time you visit True Blue Bay Resort, be sure to check out the Karaya Arawak Museum. Although a micro musem, the pieces within the glass displays tell great stories about a part of Grenada's history that is not often told.

The Amerindians were the first inhabitants of our island long before it was discovered by Christopher Columbus and before it was named 'Grenada'.  The lifestyle of these native predessors focused on argriculture and most of their produce were manoic and yam. The exhibits at the micro museum are remnants of the tools and utensils they used in their daily lives.
