Kirani James Wins Gold for Grenada

August 07, 2012

At  4:30 pm (local time) on August 6th, 2012 the people of Grenada anxiously waited for the start of the Men’s 400 Meters Final in track and field at the London 2012 Olympic Games. History was about to be made, as 19-year-old Kirani James would win the first Olympic medal for Grenada, and a gold one to be precise!

The island exploded with elation, pandemonium and sheer enthusiasm at the end of the 43.94 seconds it took James to cross the finish line.  It was a moment of pride for Grenadians both local and abroad and would forever remain in our hearts.  The management and staff at True Blue Bay Boutique Resort extend congratulations to Kirani James on this momentous achievement!
