Spice Isle Martial Arts Seminar 2014

June 05, 2014
The Grenada School of Martial Arts and Taekwon-do together with the Al Hikmah Kung Fu School International of Trinidad and Tobago held a martial arts seminar last weekend which climaxed with a session at True Blue Bay Resort's Sankalpa Yoga Studio.

The three day seminar highlighted various styles of martial arts including: Tai chi, Taekwan-do, Kickboxing and Kung Fu. Visiting Professor, Davanand Samaroo of the Al-Hikmah Kung Fu School, in his presentation at the opening ceremony, urged parents and invited guests to encourage children to join a martial art school. He proposed that a mixed martial arts competition be organized every two years as a way of getting youths to focus on something positive and to set goals to achieve.

It is always commendable to see young people using their time to develop skills that foster attributes of hard work and discipline, and in this regard we encourage all to support the movement.
