Cooking and Sampling

Our Thursday afternoon cooking lessons are a great success. Chef Charles Hyland has organized a nice selection of easy Caribbean recipes for you to practice at home and impress your guests for the new year, please check our Blog and Facebook for weekly photos and recipes. Following the cooking lesson is a cocktail demonstration where Derek Cuffie Gold winner of "Taste of the Caribbean 2007" for Best Rum Cocktail demonstrates how to make a tropical cocktail. Your participation and help at cooking the dishes and sampling the food and cocktails plays big part of this fun activity.

Coming soon we are designing a Culinary Package where you will get to submerge in to the Grenadian culture when it comes to cooking and shopping for fresh tropical produce and spices. We will keep you posted.

From our garden to the Dodgy Dock

Our garden is now producing a nice variety of fresh vegetables and herbs for the restaurant, of course we are still buying from our local farmers, but for some reason our veggies taste a lot better. We have employed a full time gardener to take care of them.
Since Hurricane Ivan, all veggies are growing very nice and full of flavor, especially the tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, breadfruit, etc.
Even when in Grenada we don't have any certified Organic farms, you can really taste the difference when vegetables are grown naturally.

RYA Sailing School at True Blue Bay Resort

Grenada Bluewater sailing RYA School is now operating out of True Blue Bay.
The school offers a great variety of courses from learning to sail to professional yacht racing.

New Sunday Family Brunch Menu at Dodgy Dock

Start your Sunday Family Brunch with a refreshing pitcher of Lemonade, Orange Squash, Sangria or Bloody Mary's then order one of our all times favorite brunch dishes: Grenadian Style Breakfast including Coconut Bakes & Salt Fish, English Style Breakfast, Eggs Benedict, Dodgy Caesar, Fish and Chips, Burgers, Roast Chicken, Roast Lamb, Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding, Fajitas & Lobster or Steak to name a few.
For desserts try a traditional Banana-Split or a Sundae. Other options include: Nutmeg Cheese Cake, Coconut Mousse, Kahlua Frozen Cake or our new "Chocoholic" a sampler of Chocolate Cake, Chocolate Mousse, Chocolate Ice Cream and a Grenadian Organic Chocolate Pod.
All kids get free ice-cream with brunch.

Spice your holiday & eat healthy all on a budget.

Recognizing the actual economic climate Blue Bay Resort is thinking in ways to save money to our guest, with this in mind we have organize every Friday morning for a group of farmers to come to the hotels grounds and offer their fresh produce to all our guests, creating a great opportunity to better utilize their rooms kitchens. Eat healthy fresh produce and save money. Chef Charles and Owner Magdalena have design a simple and easy cooking guide to lead resort guest in preparing some delicious Caribbean meals right at their own room. The cooking guide is available to all guest. Also Chef Charles has organize every Thursday a free cooking class and sampling of food and tropical cocktails available to all guests.

Hotel guest will also be allowed (on request) to pick up their own herbs from our True Blue Garden when available. Our cooks Esther and Beverly have volunteer to assist teaching any guest that may required extra lessons to prepare and cook some of Grenada's exotic vegetables, spices and fruits. Grenada has being recognize internationally for his clean green organic approach to farming. We think this program is a good opportunity for our guest to interact with the local community and benefit from each other.

True Blue will soon be launching their own day and sunset sailing yacht

Finally after a few.... years delay, Russ Fielden (owner) is lunching his 48ft Contessa Sail Yacht this January. Since Russ and Magdalena bought True Blue Bay Resort, one of Russ's dreams has being to do day sails and sunset sail for our guests (just to escape work and feel like he really lives in the Caribbean). With in the near future the vessel will be ready to take True Blue Guests for nice gentle sail around the West coat of Grenada. Russ is a professional sailor, he sail across the Atlantic 2 times and has work as a skipper in many different yachts around the world.

Hobie Cats at True Blue Bay

The Resort counts now with three Hobie Cats available for guest to sail on True Blue Bay at no extra cost. Free sailing lessons are also available on demand. Three kayaks are also available to guest.

New at Dodgy Dock Restaurant & Lounge Bar

After a year of rest Chef Charles is back with us and has designed a delicious new menu, bringing back some of his most popular creations, Callaloo-Nutmeg Chicken, Spicy Crab Cakes, Crack Conch, Coconut Curry, Salt Fish and Coconut Bakes.....
Lucian, one of our wonderful cooks has finished her training as a junior pastry chef and is baking mouth-watering breads and creating new exiting desserts: Grenadian Chocolate Gateau, Passion Fruit Cheese Cake, Nutmeg Cheese Cake, Banana-Cinnamon Flambe..... We are introducing in our menu healthy, frosty and refreshing fresh fruit shakes: Fruit Smoothie Punch, Pineapple Wobble, Cram berry-Lemon Blend, Coco Crush, to name a few. Randy is definitely the expert and is always happy to blend a new cocktail for you!

Remember Fridays is Mexican Latin Nigh featuring our Sizzling Fajita Bar, Startling Flavored Margaritas & the "Salseros" dancing and teaching the Salsa moves with music from a local band.
